Free At Last| POEM

To those who were never given a chance….

She lived there,

Or maybe here,

But somewhere around here or there

We’re not sure.

But we saw her a few times

But no one ever noticed what she was doing

Or the expression on her face

Some people never even noticed her at all.

But she was here.

For so long, she became camouflaged

 To the colour of society

The background of the community

Invisible to all

But she was alive, she lived a life.

We know this because we can see her dead body

With the stuck expression of sorrow, rejection and loneliness on her face

With the air of sadness around her

But who was she?

This innocent looking and yet sad face

But how can we know now?

For it is too late

And her lonely and sorrowful story

Her stiff body tells.

Finally, free to go,

And given the freedom

The world never gave.
