Recently, I read a poem asking the unanswerable question of why bad things happen to good people and I found it satisfying that the author did not try to provide an answer. Instead, it was left open… a thing of utmost wonder and astonishment.
Really, how good would the world be if good things happened to good people?
Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Instead, we have children living with terminal illnesses, natural disasters destroying whole towns, militants killing randomly *sigh*
Bad things happening to good people is something I’ve always wondered about and reading that poem filled my heart so much so that I grabbed my notebook and jotted down a few lines to express how I feel. What I consider the hopelessness of the situation…
The sun goes round the earth,
It sets at night;
Dawns in the morning
The tides rise and settles
Bad things happen to good people
Humans remain ignorant of their rights
A child is born; a child dies
Time doesn’t stop.
