As a child, I wished and prayed
I believed in a future I was sure would happen
I got crushed along the way
Picked myself up, dusted off and dreamt some more
Always within my reach and yet beyond my grasp
This illusive perfection I’d come to crave so
Waiting and still waiting
Through hurt, disappointment, pain and loss
I wait and I still wait
Just where does it end?
